Although they are both now owned by Confluence Watersports, long-time competitors Team Wave Sport and Team Dagger—two of the top whitewater kayaking teams in the U.S.—recently released their updated team rosters and will compete this season as hard as ever, especially given the U.S. hosting of the 2013 Freestyle Kayaking World Championships on the Nantahala. Both teams welcome back seasoned paddlers and introduce rising stars, and will travel the country vying for wins and promoting the products that help them perform at a professional level.

Team Wave Sport Continues to Grow as New Talent Emerges in 2013 Roster

The team also welcomes newcomers Max Ovett, Sam Ovett, Shane Groves and Chris Bear. “The talented athletes on Team Wave Sport specialize in everything from running the world’s biggest waterfalls and rapids, to filmmaking, racing, freestyle, instruction and leading expeditions,” said long-standing team manager and top freestyle competitor Bryan Kirk.

“New and returning kayakers alike live and breathe kayaking 365 days a year, always looking for the next big drop, fun play wave and exciting journey. I know the men and women on this year’s team will continue pushing limits and living out the Wave Sport legacy,” said Kirk.
