The Official Schedule of the 2019 APP World Tour is out, and the venue list is stacked. Both the Racing and the Surfing tours will travel to major global regions to bring together the World’s best competitors, SUP enthusiasts and the global media to celebrate the sport.

Racing sees a mix of iconic locations and city venues that provide a very complete challenge to the very best in the World.

The 2019 Racing Schedule is expanding on the City Paddle Festival concept launched in 2018, and will include events in London and New York, and a new flagship stop in Asia in the historical and legendary City of Osaka.

The World Champions will be crowned at the final stop of the tour in Rio de Janeiro.

In 2019, as was the case in 2017 and ’18, athletes will have the right to replace their Heavy Water result with one of the other Distance results on Tour in terms of World Title calculations, but this will not be in addition to all the other distance races on Tour.

Beyond this special designation for Red Bull Heavy Water, athletes will have the right to one discard out of the remaining 5 events to determine their overall result in their quest for the World Championship Title on the APP World Tour.

The 2019 Racing Schedule is as follows:

  1. London SUP Open, UK: 17th – 19th May
  2. New York SUP Open, USA: 5th – 7th September
  3. Osaka SUP Open, Japan: 20th – 22nd September
  4. Pacific Paddle Games, Southern California:12th – 13th October
  5. Red Bull Heavy Water, San Francisco: 15th October – 8th November (Holding Period)
  6. Rio SUP Open, Brazil: 22nd – 24th November

Surfing Tour sees major enhancements for 2019 season with four event season providing a complete cross section of conditions

It will be a 4 event season for Surfing on the APP World Tour for 2019, with the return of the epic Sunset Beach Pro in February to open the year, followed by the 2nd annual New York SUP Open out at Long Beach in Long Island.

The Tour then introduces an all new stop in November that will take the world’s best to the magical island of Barbados, and its World famous spot, Soupbowls for stop #3, before heading back to Las Palmas de Gran Canaria for the final stop of the Tour to crown the 2019 World Champions.

Here are the Surf Events broken down:

  1. Sunset Beach Pro, Hawaii: 11th – 23rd February
  2. New York SUP Open: 31st August – 5th September
  3. Barbados Pro-Am, Barbados: 9th – 17th November
  4. Gran Canaria Pro-Am, Canary Islands: 11th – 18th December

In 2019, athletes will have the right to one discard out of the 4 events on the Tour Schedule.
