Dear Athlete:

Thanks for coming to the sixth annual Paddling Life Open, held this Memorial Day (Monday, May 28) in Steamboat Springs, Colorado.

As in the past, the event combines scores of a creek race on Class IV-V Fish Creek and a freestyle event on the Yampa River’s C-hole downtown (see event schedule below). A $2,000 purse will be split between the top three men’s and women’s winners, with $500 going to first-place for the me

One mile of seat-of-the-pants, Class IV-V continuous whitewater.

• 2 p.m. Freestyle - Charlie’s Hole, Yampa River
Arguably the best man-made feature in the state
