New for the 2014 collection, Rider Sandals will be incorporating its new cushioning foam, DryEco Foam, an EVA formulated foam compound.

The proprietary foam, created by Brazilian-based Grendene, the owner of Rider Sandals, offers a number of unique characteristics setting it apart from most other foams on the market.

One of the most distinguishing characteristics of the DryEco Foam is the innovative surface treatment, making the foam non-porous and water resistant. This water-repelling feature delivers a continually dry foot-bed, whereas many other foams hold water, causing it to stay wet for hours. By not holding any water, DryEco Foam also reduces fungal growth.

The new 2014 designs with DryEco Foam are designed to be more comfortable than ever. The new designs offer cushioned insoles for comfort, longer cushion memory, water resistant characteristics and designs that are even better for the environment.

The new designs are made of 30% recycled material and are 100% recyclable for other uses. Rider will incorporate DryEco Foam into all styles, reducing its manufacturing carbon footprint by having only one type of foam throughout the manufacturing process. This is consistent with the environmental conservation Rider has demonstrated in its production process since its inception in 1986.

“The Grendene product development team is constantly looking to improve efficiencies and reduce our carbon footprint,” said Angelo Daros, vice president of marketing for Grendene USA.

This new formula can be found in the Women's Rider Plush (MSRP $30.00) and Men's Rider Pier (MSRP $27.00), along with the Surf Sandal V, Action, Cloud, Surf V and Dunas V designs in the 2014 collection. DryEco Foam will replace all Dry Foam designs in the 2015 line.
