When private land ownership blocks access points, public land is not always made public. Unlocking inaccessible public land for recreational use takes some finesse and tactic…or maybe just a waterway and an inflatable pack raft.

Alpacka Raft, the industry leader in research and development of modern packrafting, announced a partnership with Randy Newberg, the leading voice of public land hunters in America.

Newberg has spent decades chasing and hunting a variety species across public lands. Those experiences have allowed him to advocate and offer a unique perspective for self-guided hunting. Through his partnership with Alpacka Raft, Newberg will expand his knowledge of public land access via water.

“Randy is a champion of public land access advocacy. From the early beginnings of packraft adventures, our gear was used to access the inaccessible, and as a hunter myself, I’ve used our rafts to hunt on public lands,” said Thor Tingey, CEO of Alpacka Raft. “We’re eager to develop, test, prototype and provide solutions alongside Randy with our current and future line of packrafts.”

Newberg’s popular social media and online presence, including his YouTube channel, Hunttalk.com, Hunt Talk Radio Podcast and “Fresh Tracks” on Amazon Prime, among others, allow him and his team to directly interact with millions of public land hunters around the world.

“In light of recent circumstances, I’m looking forward to more hunting, and I’m anticipating floating waterways to access public lands for those hunts,” said Newberg. “Alpacka Raft’s packrafts will be a gamechanger for how I plan, approach and hopefully ‘tag out’ on future hunts.”

On his upcoming adventures, Newberg will be use Alpacka’s BHA series, which was developed in collaboration with Backcounry Hunters & Anglers, line of packrafts:

Alpacka Raft and Randy Newberg are proud to support Backcountry Hunters & Anglers, a non-profit grassroots group of sportsmen and women to protect and conserve public land forests, mountains, prairies, streams and lakes that support hunting and angling traditions . A portion of all sales of the BHA series will be donated to Backcountry Hunters & Anglers.
